Significant snowfall and a very wintery and cold weekend expected for a great deal of South Africa. Southern Namibia to even see some rainfall and snow.
This snow forecast update covers expected and possible snow falls across parts of South Africa from Thursday to Sunday this coming week.
A significant amount of snowfall, even disruptive in parts, looks very likely from Thursday night or the early hours of Friday morning for the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State provinces and Lesotho.
Snow falls are also possible for the high-grounds on the border of the Free State and Mpumalanga.
The maps below indicate where SAWX is currently seeing the possibility of snowfalls, This is an advanced forecast so the areas and amount of snowfall is likely to change slightly.
It sure is looking like a very eventful weekend ahead of Winter weather for South Africa and we will keep you updated.
